: Can somebody ease my pain please? I've checked the wiring and replace the coil resistor with a 1939 Ford car resistor which appears to be identical to what was in the old machine but cant get voltage to reduce from 6.5 volts. I had the coil on the left eye of resistor but changed to right based on "Neil's" web site drawing but still no change. I got 6.5 in and 6.5 out and the coil(s) don't like it for very long. I saw where the resistor should be a 1 ohm type. Based on the way these old ones are made I get 0 ohms and since they are all metal with spring between how could you get any different. I thought maybe they limited current versus voltage. As you can see I,m lost. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Bob

I've checked these resistors and they are only reducing the voltage by 0.5voltages so I need a different one. The ford dealer wants 20 some dollars for one. Does anybody know which old correct car model might work or the correct size one to use i.e. ohms rating whatever? Any help would be appreciated. Bob
