I was told by a salvage yard that the SM/400/450 live pump would only fit the later M blocks (I believe the serial number split they gave me was for mid '50). Other than that, they said M&W made a live pump with a universal mounting base that would bolt onto either the M or SM blocks. So if anyone has tried this successfully on the earlier blocks with the standard IH pump, I would be interested in hearing about it. I have added an IH pump to an early Super M. It just bolted up and works great (Now the reservoir was another story).

: A live pump from a S-M/400/450 will bolt up. You'll need the manifold too. Cost about $500.

: : I have a Farmall M tractor with a F-11 Loader. The tractor runs very well, but the loader is operated with a PTO driven pump. Is it possible to either convert to a live PTO, or have an oil pump driven from the engine directly ?
