: : Hello,
: : I just bought a 1 wire Delco alternator and mounted it on my Farmall 450. I was told it works when the engine is at a higher REV. Question, where does the wire go, straight to the Battery? My concern not knowing anything specific about this unit other than its a delco is that it will over charge my Battery. Do I need some new fangled Regulator or will it do everything by itself. Help me.

: Check out instructions sheet at www.oldengine.org/unfaq/10si.htm.
: Good Luck!
Just run that one one wire to the battery and it will be fine. Use a heavy gauge wire. The Alternator is internaly regulated. Basicly if your battery is discharged it will be charged and if it is fully charged it will not be charged. It works great. I use them when people want me to convert a tractor from 6v to 12v.
