Powermaster 851 Sheet Metal Questions??

I have a Ford 851 Powermaster with a Ford front end loader. The bottom of the grill looks as if it were cut off to provide clearance for the pump assembly. Now I am told that the Powermaster grill is made up from three separate pieces. The bottom piece is somewhat like a bumper. I seem to be missing this bumper and maybe the bottom of the grill. Does anyone have pictures of these individual parts or know of anyone that has an old Powermaster grill that can be purchased?

Thanks. I have talked to the Ebay seller and he is supposed to be getting the parts I need. Several members from the board have offered much help also.

Looks like this is missing the same piece, but this guy has all kinds of Ford parts in Mexico Missouri. E-mail him and find out!

Your 851 would look the same as this 861

If you're going to keep the loader on the tractor you might as well leave it as it is.

If you're going for restoration without a loader then that lower panel will certainly make it look better. You could surf the tractor photos in the gallery (check the link to the left). Type in "Powermaster" in the search box to see other peoples' tractors. There should be at least one or two good shots of a complete grille.

Finally, if skycarp doesn't have the part you want, try emailing brian "at" ungerphoto "dot" com. He parts out Fords on ebay all the time. Lately he mentioned an 871 that he was getting set to take apart. Maybe it has a good grille and maybe you can get to him before he lists it on ebay for the rest of the world to fight over.

1. The model 801 had a lower piece of sheet metal called the Lower Panel Assembly, PN 310032.

2.Working up, you will have grill that looks like a large egg crate.

3. Behind the grill is a screen that has a waffle effect to it. The screen and grill are attached to the side panel assemblies with thumb screws at the top and bolts at the bottom.

4. Above this grill is the hood panel top assembly that contains the 801 emblem.

5. The hood panel top assembly is attached to the hood Right Hand and the hood Left Hand. They are not interchangeable.

6. On each side of the hood panels are the Hood Gusset Assemblies, LH and RH.

6. Between the two hood panel assemblies you will find the Hood Top Center Panel. This is also called the gas tank trap door. When asking for this part be sure to state Diesel or gas.

The lower panel assembly is being manufactured as an after market part. I was able to get one from Tanty Tractor Salvage in California for $100.00. I see them advertised in magazines for $195.00.

To my knowledge the gusset assembly and the rear fenders are the only other sheet metal parts being manufactured as after market parts for the 801. I could be wrong in this.

I was able to pick up sheet metal parts for my 801 at different tractor salvave yards. These parts are not cheap.

I have a few sheet metal parts left over from my project. I may have what you want. Let me know.

skycarp,
It seems as if I only need the screen and lower panel assembly. My emblem housing is rough, but I have an aftermarket emblem. Can you help with any of these parts?
