I can't find any information anywhere on my remote valve. It has AICO on the cast. It has remnants of yellow paint, so may have come off an industrial tractor somewhere down the line. Anyone have any info?

I have the same valve on my 5000 and it is yellow which leads me to believe it came off an industrial model. My top spool is DA and my bottom spool is currently SA. My single hose from the lower spool is connected to the port that is plugged with a bolt on yours. There is a port on the opposite side that is plugged on mine. I need to convert mine to a DA spool because I just bought a Ford 552 round baler and it requires 2 DA valves for operation. I assume there is a screw in one of those 3 ports in the base of the valve that is screwed in or out to convert to DA. If you find out anything please let me know also!

My valve is configured DA on the top, and both bottom ports are plugged with bolts. I just disassembled the valve and didn't find anything resembling a configuration screw. I think it's DA/DA permanently unless you don't have all the hoses hooked up. Is it possible to use a DA port as an SA with only one hose hooked up?

I don't know if it's possible to use a DA valve in a SA configuration but mine works that way. I assumed it was working in the SA mode because it had a change-over screw somewhere in it. What did you find in those 3 small ports in the base of the valve?
I hope someone who is familiar with this valve will jump in here and tell us what we have.

All the holes in the bottom appear to be pilot holes, drilled to make a connection from one inside port to another. There's nothing in them. They may serve to drain sludge from the valve also (mine had plenty). The only allen plug with anything behind it was on the very top/front of the unit. It had a spring and ball behind the plug, and appears to be either a pressure relief valve or an anti-cavitation valve.

Is anyone familiar with this hydraulic valve????? in reply to richardp3, 01-10-2008 15:54:20
We need some help here. Is this a DA/DA or DA/SA valve?

Well, the AICO valve advice seems to be a little scarce. I have the unit cleaned, primed, seals replaced, and ready to go back on my tractor once I'm ready for the final prime/topcoat. I think this unit is a DA/DA, and if you only have one hose hooked up as you do, the gravity will feed the fluid back on the down stroke, effectively making it SA. I like the valve, it's well designed and very robust. If you find anything else, please post.
