I found this Dearborn 14-42 Side Delivery Rake "in the weeds" at a neighbor's farm. I could see the field where it was setting from my house! I brought it home on Friday. Yesterday (Sat) I greased & oiled everything up . The wheels had been robbed off of it, but I had some tires/wheels from an old haybine that another neighbor scrapped out. They are a little wide, but will work just fine. I had to remove 2 of the stripper bars (they were bent and binding up some teeth), but other than that, she seems to be fine! There are a few teeth that need replaced, but after sitting in the weeds for 25 years, it's in pretty good shape! I baled hay LAST week, so I don't have anything to rake until next year, but I still tried it out on a few spots my neighbor's reel rake left (it a huge rake and there was some left in the corners). Seemed to operate great! I only wish I had found it LAST week! Anyone know what the paint color was on this?

Here is an original 14-42 rake with original paint. What would it be worth? We have no need for it anymore as homes have taken up all the farm ground by us.

How can you tell the difference between a 14-40 and a 14-42? I have one or the other, would like to know which.
