i have got the baler working pretty good
but have run out of hay to try it in. i laid about 1/2 acre of grass down to break the baler back in. but i have a couple more ?s

1. the problem im having now is the twine is not catching the twine disc tensioner, maybe 3/4
of it.

2. can i move the rod i included in the pic
too make the needles come up a little quicker
to the disc? or do i need to move the needles closer too the disc? THANKS

If I remember right that rod is to adjust the needles home position and when it enters the baler. I want to think the needle in relation to the disc is adjusted where the needles are attached. I am pretty sure that your problem can be fixed by checking the eye of the needles for wear and simple brazing job to build up wear. It has been awhile and I don't have my old baler manual and never had a Ford baler. I am just trying to recall the basics.

Steven, I am going to take some pictures of the manual and send to you. If I can find your email address again. I will do this in a few minutes.

Move needles closer to disc. Maybe your disc are out of time just a bit.

And I thought my oliver 520 baler was ugly... I haven't seen a Ford baler before. It sure looks like they went and over engineered things. I still like the new holland baler for simplicity, but I hate how finicky they can be when it comes to bale shape. (Thats why I own 2... it's a love/hate thing)

twine disc's are adjusted by loosening the worm gear and turning the disc. Hopefully you'll get the manual copies that another individual said he would send.
