I was wondering if anyone knew the model number of this mower. It bolts directly to the axle and the mount looks a lot like the drawbar. Thanks in advance. Oh, if I can't get pictures to link, I am in the help identify section under Jon Holt.

I think it is a #28 series.

Mingo: I can't bring up his photo but 28 model mowers were all either 2 point fast hitch or 3 point hitch. I told Jon on another thread what his mower was, H-M 16 was the only mower of that era to bolt to axle housings.

What is confusing is the adjustment of the cutter bar tilt. The HM-16 had a hand wheel and screw. This one seems to have the carriage bolt with the three different holes.

Mingo: You've got a good point. The actual mower drive train, mower bar and lift mechanism on many of those mowers were quite similar. whether they were similar enough to interchange, I'm not sure. I cant bring the photo up so will not argue very strong.
