I'M REBUILDING A 201 CID ENGINE,AND NEED TO KNOW ABOUT SOME KIND OF FUEL INJECTED STARTING SYSTEM WITH A THREADED FITTING THAT GOES INTO THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. UNFORTUNATELY,MINE IS INCOMPLETE. I WOULD BE GRATEFUL IF SOMEONE COULD EXPLAIN HOW THIS SYSTEM WORKS, OR IS THERE A SPECIFIC MANUAL DETAILING IT'S FUNCTION?

The 4500 cold start is elec and fuel. When the key switch is in the correct position, the thermostat plug heats a coil and at the same time opens a ball check valve to allow fuel to dribble into the intake manifold from the resvoir pot mounted to the left of the voltage regulator. This fuel ingnites and aids in starting a cold diesel. This break down might help,it will be the same as 4000 65 up.
