ams,

After looking at all of your pictures, I really don't know what plates I have, or what kind of planter I did have. It looked more like your orginal pictures, than the others you posted.

I have six plates, all metal, and they measure 7 inches across. The center hole is 3/8's of an inch. On two sides of the center hole is a indent in the metal. I think that is where the drive meck. turns the plates. Each plate has 6 little cups around the outside. The size of the cups start at the smallest (for radishes) up to the biggest (beans or peanuts) Each plate has 12 holes spread equally around the near outside. Does that sound like what you need?

What do the seed plates look like? Are you sure that it is a Sears, or could it be a Plantet Jr? I have some plates that went to a simplicity planter and I though it was built by Planet Jr.

Mine wasn't made by Planet Jr - it's a completely different design. David Bradley made the Sears planters. They used to make them with wood handles, sears helped redesign so it could be connected to their cat 00 3-point hitch (and later sleeve hitch).

I bought Earthway plates over the internet but they were plastic. Mine are about 8" in diameter with a 1/2" hole in the middle.
