I saw what was left of a tractor the owner described as a Chrysler. it seemed to be made of dodge truck drive train components and was factory made. what few books i have don't mention it. do i feel my leg being yanked?

It may have been a Wards tractor. They were made around 1949-51.The HR Wards had a 230 Chrysler 6 and the ER had a 250 Chrysler 6.They had the Chrysler fluid drive with a New Process 5 speed tranny.I used to own several Wards tractors and pulled them.Other similar tractors were the Lehr Big Boy,Simpson,Jumbo,Love ,Friday,Coop#2&3,etc.I also owned a Graham Bradley tractor. It had a 6 cyl Continental engine.

could be wrong(probably) but I think chrysler either outright produced tractor for montgomery wards or they made the engines for them. I think I think.

You are right, the tractors were sold through Wards, not Sears.

They were called a Grahmn Bradley (sp), only built for two years I beleive. Not many were sold, they tried to sell them through Sears.

Several tractors used Dodge/Chrysler parts. Here are a few, Custom, Leer, Simpson, Coop, Massey Harris, Love, Friday. These were built from around 1938 to 1955
