Steve, I noted your post with interest, as I have had a similar repair done for me in the past (can't remember where). One caution that I have for you on these repairs. You probably noted that the shaft is center drilled and sealed with a steel ball on the splined end. Well, on the shaft that I had done for me, I reinstalled it in the tranny, reassembled tractor, and upon startup noticed I had a healthy oil leak in the bellhousing area. Turned out oil was leaking past that ball in the shaft, so I had to take it back out and weld it up. Thought you might appreciate this info should you do another one. Evidently the shaft got too hot as it was welded up for the new splines. I checked out your picture. Looks good to me. I will keep you in mind should I need another one done. I do see these from time to time.
