This is realy TRUE | I purched a 1964 farmall cub for 2.500.00, it had a 6ft belly mower, and come with both the turf tires, and regular. I started looking for another, 15 miles up the road, I spotted another cub sitting in a tractor shed, so of course I had to ask if it was for sale. I was told that he was wanting to restore it himself, but he would think about it, about 2 weeks went by, and I gave hime a call, he said for me to bring him 1.500.00 and it would be mine. I was there in a flash, to my amazement, I got the following- a set of two way plows-grader blade-front snow blade-sickle bar mower-wood saw mill[cord]-tirechains-wheel weights, another set of rims and tires all for 1.500.00, he even helped me load all the implements on my lowboy. When I got home, I started changing the fluids, and adding new fluids, and to my disbelief, it started on the first time, it smoked a little at first, but then it mellowed out, to make this a little shorter, I checked the serial#, and it turned out to be a very low number in 1947. as I decided to find out more about the farmall cub, I called the previous owner and asked him where he purched it, he had bought it at a auction in the county, when I asked him who had it befor him, I was told, and then I found that the first owner had bought it new off of my grandfather who owned the local international farm and sales company, I was very pleased to hear this, for at this time, I have handed it down to my son, he is only 17, and it stays hear untill he gets married or I can trust that he will not sale it!!!I would also like to mention, at this time I have 1947,48,49,53,and a 1964 farmall cubs, this is very addictive, I have went through a devorce and I still have them, at this time, Im waiting to build a garage(another one), and with my new wife's permission, I will start collecting and restoring AGAIN.....Red Forever!! Field Modifications (Sins of the Farmer) - by Staff. Picture a new Chevrolet driving down the street without it's grill, right fender and trunk lid. Imagine a crude hole made in the hood to accommodate a new taller air cleaner, the fender wells cut away to make way for larger tires, and half of a sliding glass door used to replace the windshield. Top that off with an old set of '36 Ford headlight shells bolted to the hood. Pretty unlikely for a car... but for a tractor, this is pretty normal. It seems that more often than not they a
