I recently bought a d-17 Lp that was sitting in a field in missouri for the last year and it doesn"t want to start very well, it pops off but dies and eventually will start, kind of acts like it is flooded out, i don"t know anything about propane tractors so any help will be appreciated.
thank you

If your D-17 is like the G-262 LP fueled power unit on my C-II combind you have FOUR adjustments on your fuel system. One is idle speed just like a gasoline carb, One is the idle mixture, just like a gasoline carb BUT THIS ADJUSTMENT IS ON THE DEMAND REGULATOR/EVAPORATOR, Third is you load or power adjustment much like a gasoline carb and fourth is a CHOKE MIXTURE ADJUSTMENT. When I got my C-II the choke wire was sieze and the guy had it running on the choke mixture. When I freed that up and went to run the engine died and it was two days before I figured out what was wrong. The load was set WAY lean. I got the fuel system figured out and now the machine can set for 11 months, put a good battery in it, turn on the fuel and start it and drive away, NO hick-up or nothing. Do you live in MO? If I can help give me a call in the evenings at 417-467-2256.

Kent
