51 model WD45 tractor (gas)

I own a WD45 gas and would like to know if the WD45 diesel engine will fit my tractor and if so who has a running engine that I could buy. My engine runs good though leaks oil a lot but I prefer the diesel. I am locaated in the south central region of the U.S.

If I am reading this right and you say you have a 1951, you may have a WD instead of a 45. I would wonder if the clutches and Transmission in a straight WD would handle the diesel's power. Just a thought.

to Bryan, Paul, and Bud. I made a typo on the year model of my tractor. It's a 55 and have been told that the Buda 6 cylinder will work and the transmission will take the torque. Thanks for your input.

Gene, also the left frame rail is bent down in the front to make room for the fuel pump, Paul Anderson

Gene the six cylinder Buda diesel will fit although you will have to find a longer hood also and convert the lights to 12 volt and generator. I bought my third 45 diesel in about 40 years in OK last fall it is complete and runs excellent. I do have books ect as farmed with them for years I am located in SE Iowa
