This approximately 64-65 model. The problem I am having is the left reservoir is running out of oil and the right reservoir is overfilling. I can only operate the tractor for a short time before having to drain out of one side into the other. Has anyone had a similar problem or know how this can be resolved.

My Brother bought a 190XT III and it was that way also in about 10 min all the oil was out of hydrolic and into trans. We looked it over and discovered that on the hydrolic dipstick was suppose to be vented and checked balled. We cleaned out vent and took out the check ball. Guess what. PROBLEM SOLVED. He Has been using it for 2 years now and only time hydrolic oil is low now is because loosing it at the cly couplers.
Hope this helps Yours to. If so You can send Me a check for whatever You think this was worth. Dave

I am having the same problem with my 190 xt also.
I have been using a suction pump and pulling the fluid from the transmission side to the hydraulic side.
This does not take too long and is alot cheaper than having it broken into and repaired.
Have also found that if i park on a sloop for afew minutes this will help also.
My mechanic states that if we break it into that several ac owners have just drilled a equalizing hole between both units other than try and replace the seal since sometimes when its put back together the seal will tear anyway.

Jack:

The reason that your oil is transferring is because the rubber seal on the input shaft of the transmission has separated from the metal casing and is allowing the excess oil from the power director clutch to transfer into the transmission. The tractor will have to be split between the transmissiona and the torque tube to replace this seal. If you want to attempt this repair yourself, I would reccomend obtaining a service manual before proceeding. There is an alternative solution to your problem but you will have to E-mail me for this as it is too long to post here. Have a good day.

We had a 190 years ago that had the same problem, there is a seal between the transmission and rear-end that has to be replaced.
