Restoring my 1939 Model B, no battery, no lights, hand brakes. Pretty basic machine. What colors should the levers (brake, throttle, gear selector) be? I've seen picture with everything orange and some with some black levers.

Also, what about the rims, orange, black or silver?

Thanks all,
Steve

Tractor all orange, front rims orange, rear centers orange. Rear rims were galvanized from the factory but most paint them silver 'cause it's cheaper and easier. Some, like me, like Argent silver as on pickup bumpers 'cause it looks closer to original galvanizing.

I belive that in 1939 they were shipped all orange. However the 1940 that I am working on now, when I took the stearing box apart I found that under the collum at the casting and under the clamp it was painted black. The tube was eather under coated black all the way to the to the stearing wheel or it was black at one time. In the 40's we had a C and the neighbor across the road had a B and they had not been repainted and they were all orange.

Thanks for the info. I think there is something about the black under the steering column in "The Little A-C's" article mentioned below. That was supposedly common.
