AC 185 Problem

I have an AC 185 Diesel tractor that used to run really well. Now it will only run for about 1 minute then shuts down. If you re-start it right away, it will only run for a few seconds. If you leave it alone for about 5 minutes and re-start it, it will again run about a minute then shut down. Almost like it's running out of fuel. I have replaced the fuel filter, sediment bowl assembly and removed and blew out all of the fuel lines. I have removed the fuel tank and cleaned it out. I have reprimed the fuel system after all of this. I put a clear line in place of the fuel return to see if there was any air in the fuel system and saw none. I cannot figure out what is causing this problem. If anyone has a clue, please let me know cause I'm at a loss. (Could it be the roosta-master fuel distributer?) Thanks!

Doug:

Your problem is caused by a blockage of the return line fitting on top of the pump. Pieces of the governor ring inside of the pump are breaking off and getting stuck in the glass ball in this fitting. You can make a temporary fix for this problem by removing the fitting and using a small pin punch or nail to break the glass ball to allow a free return flow back to the tank. This will work for a while but you will eventually have to remove the pump to have it repaired at a pump station before the governor goes up completely. I hope that this helps.
