I'm in the process of rebuilding the hyd pump on my AC 160. I've got a few questions for you guys that are knowledgeable about these things out there. The tractor has S/N 0144375D. The Pump has S/N 35281 528 and a logo of "AE" with something like "wings" around it on the rear cover. The AGCO dealer sold me seal kit 72074356. He said that was the only kit available for the AC 160 Hyd Pump. This seal kit is made up of 8 pieces. The first is a "square ring" about 1/8" cross section and 2 3/8" in diameter, which looks like it goes inside the back cover of the pump on the pump main body. There are two "O" rings about 1/8" cross section and 1 1/8" diameter. One of these rings appears to go in the pump suction inlet tube assy, the other MIGHT go around the shaft, in back of the shaft oil seal (not sure about this). There is another o ring about 1/8 cross section and 7/8 diameter that appears to go in the pump discharge outlet tube assembly. There ia another o ring about 3/32 cross section by 5/8 diameter, that I don't know where it goes. It looks as though it might fit in the main body on the rear side between the body abd read cover plate, but the ring there currently looks like a square ring, not an o ring. I pulled out the shaft seal (it was shot), which looks like any other oil seal (a spring with rubber around it), and the dealer is sending me one of them ( It didn't come in the pump seal kit?? and is about $40.00!!!). Behind the shaft seal, is another piece of rubber, that appears to be in somewhat decent shape, that I haven't pulled yet. Since parts are hard to come by, I'm not just going to strip the pump without parts on hand. Is that spare 1/8 by 1 1/8 "spare" o ring supposed to replace that piece of rubber behind the shaft oil seal? There are also a couple metal pieces in this kit. The first is an aluminum washer about 1 1/16 diameter - where does it go??. The second is a copper washer about 7/8 diameter - again, where

I guess my questions were too long winded, and the rest of the post didn't make it. So, here's the rest of the post -

The second is a copper washer about 7/8" diameter - again, where does it go? Finally, there is a thin piecde of cardboard, 1" X 1". Is this a guage for measuring "crush" of one of the metal washers, or trash, or other?? All replies will be appreciated. I asked most of these questions to the AGCO dealer, but he said he aws not familiar with the 160, and didn't know what to tell me.

On a more personal note, Please remember tomorrow as you go about your business, that the freedom we in America enjoy to live the way we live was paid for with the lives of some of our best fellow Americans. They are no longer here to hold a grandchild, or kiss a Mother on the cheek on Mother's day. or even tinker with an old rusty tractor..... So that we can, in Freedom!!

I'd suggest that you either purchase a repair manual, preferabably factory,or get some pages copied from your dealers one.If he does not have one look to another dealer.
