Can't find that miss

I have a Model B (1937 or so) with a Fairbanks Morse magneto. This was my dad's tractor, and I got it after he passed away, and I've done a good bit of maintenance since I got it. It gets used mainly for mowing (a 60" Woods belly mower). However, it has a miss that I can't get rid of, especially under a hard pull and when it's hot. I've replaced points, plugs, wires, fine tuned everything I can think of, but with no positive results.

What am I missing? Any help would be great.

It could be a valve that is leaking by, but probably a plug. I have had at least one bad plug in the last 5 or 6 set that I have bought. For my six cylinder engines I get a set of eight. Let the engine idle and pull one plug wire off at a time and see which one that makes no change in the engine speed. You might want to wear a rubber glove. That will be the one that is bad. You can check for spark at this time. If the engine is burning oil a plug can foul out and you will be able to see carbon in the plug. If you have good spark and put in a new plug and it still misses it would probably be a valve. If you find that it is a valve you might want to check to make sure that you have .010 clearance between the rockerarm and the valve stem. If an engine runs very long without enough clearance the valve will need griding anyway. I still think its a plug.
