I have a WD wide front with a Paulson loader I call "Oomba". This name came to me when I was using the bucket to lift sections of tree truck from an old oak tree.
I yelled "Lift Oomba, Lift!!" Like it was an elephant, ya know.
And it lifted.

My liitle Ford 2N I call "Jenny". It was my wife who named it after the movie "Forrest Gump". If you remember, no matter how far Jenny went astray, the Gump man still loved her.....he even named his shrimp boat that.....my wife says I have that same kind of devotion to my tractor, plus I think there maybe an insult to my intelligence thrown in there somewhere.....

When I was a boy, the Oliver 770 was Dick Dastardly's Mean Machine, and the Allis B was Penelope Pitstop's Compact Pussycat (and if you understand those you can guess how old I am). The Massey 65 we had a few years ago we called the Massive. My new Allis B is Busy B (as Sweet Allis and Mean Ole' Allis were taken). My Dad's B is the Red B (someone painted it candy apple red). My Case 430 is the Case, my running Super 55 is the Ugly Tractor (it really is). The other S55 has not been named - it originally was a parts tractor for Ugly but is too nice to part.

Most everything on our farm has a nickname, some applied, some from who we got the machine from.
Spooky old allis-WD (from George Gobel's girlfriend)
Woody-Farmall H that belonged to my wife's uncle Woody
Walter- Model A Gleaner (name stenciled on grain tank)
Miserability-Farmall A with a weak magneto (hand start)
The great pumpkin-our old LA Case
The lesser pumpkin-our D Case
We also once had a snowblower we called "Diane's grandfather" and a roadgrader named Chauncey?
The rest of the names I call 'em can't be printed on a family board

The WD is "Ally McBeast" because it has a lot more power than the 9N known as "Ferd"

Bullia is the name for my wd45. When she shuts down I always say old bullia died with a hacking cough.
