My father and I were talking today about an old WC that he's got.He started rebuilding it several years ago but stopped when it came to a busted block. We were talking about making a puller out of it.He's got a WD-45 with a D-17 motor in he uses around the farm. Was wondering how a D-17 motor in a WC would fair and may some pointers on how to get some more out a D-17 motor. Thanks.Alan

Better check your rules where you want to pull. Some places require stock block. They might not let you pull with D-17 motor.

Get a 175 piston kit and put in D-17 block. Get it from Agco. Last I checked $479 comes with pistons, sleeves, bearings, and gaskets also sleeve won't crack. Have taken several engines apart with overbore sleeves that cracked in area of the orings. The 175 kit will get 60 plus HP at 1800 rpm.

Put a 45 crank in your WC block, and get a Sealed Power 1/8th Inch overbore kit, will give you 240 C.I. and about 52 PTO HP with late WD head and 45 manifold. There are some machine shops around that will stroke and bore you over 400 C.I. and 120 plus HP, for enough money anything is possible.
