A 5 mile off neighbor has this tractor and wants to sell it 500 stuck or 1000 running.
been outside all its life.
non original front wheels.
tires all up look like original tires 25% tread.
Board where the seat cusion should be.
Has an interesting back blade that hooks to the drawbar turned around and lifted by the Cultivator lift cyl's.
Tin is ok.
Says it ran good a year ago Don't know why it is stuck? kept moisture out.
So what do you guys think? And is this back blade an original AC Equpt?
500 is kinda hard to pass up. Thanks

It is very easy to tell a correct wide front end for a c if it is the right one it will have a gear box tn the front . the B does not have a gear box in front and steers off the left front spindle.

I changed a tricycle C to a wishbone by just bolting the front carriage to the 4 studs on the front of the engine and then pinning the axle to it and at the torque tube. This went all to well. I turned the steering gear arm over and hooded it up, lucky again no master spline. This was a Saturday job and it had gone so fast I was thinking about wetting a line that afternoon. I hopped on the tractor to give it a spin, I know you've allready guessed it, I turned right and the tractor went left. The steering gears are different, Back to the boneyard for a B gear. When I got back I found that the arm on the new gear would not hook up to my steering rod. Now of course the spline was different to. So I cut my two gear arms, welded them together and made one. It worked but the bass were safe for that day. Joe

Try offering him $300 for it as is(stuck) and see what he says. I wouldn't go over $500 for a C with a stuck engine. Even though he said it ran good a year ago, you don't know what you might be getting in to.

Steve; I'd offer him 300,350. One thing to check or have checked, is the wide front. IF, and I mean, IF, the front end is a factory w/f, it will add to the value of the tractor. Factory C's with wide front were indeed built, but, only on express order. They generally were'nt usually found setting on the dealers lot. Look the front end mount for signs of modification, B front ends were often fitted to C's, but it is not a direct swap, B front ends must be modified to fit a C. Regards J.L.

Thanks to both Glenn and J.L. for your responses. That is interesting about the front end. This front end is the adjustable straight across channel iron type. It has some added on solid round stock to stiffen the stabillizers that go back and attach to the torque tube. It sure is not one of those rounded hoop type that I have seen on pictures of B's. I will go read my AC data book I think they changed the design of wide fronts on Bs about this time. Hmmmmm .
