Any and all info on the ac 190 xt would be appreciated. I bought one at an auction today for $3600. It runs great, looks great, 3. strong, original paint(decals are faded), clean oil on dipstick, about 4500 hours, brakes work good, does'nt jump out of gears, starts easily, good tires, new exhaust and air cleaner. What is the 2900 engine? Appears to have been taken care of and kept inside. What should i know about this tractor, and to watch for? Thank-you.

Sounds like you got a pretty good deal! The last XT I saw sell at an auction brought $5700. In addition to what Joe said, the 2900 series is a 301 cubic inch motor and is a very good one. XT's were supposed to have about 93.6 hp on the dyno but many of them had the pumps turned up right from the factory (our first XT was bought new and had about 120 hp). Make sure that the transmission does not slip (especially in high range). Sometimes if owners slammed the power director clutch under heavy loads it would break the clutch plates when they shifted up from low range. Our current XT had this problem and it cost about $1000 to replace the clutch plates. Overall, I think that you will be pleased with your "new" tractor. Chad

The 2900 motor was a very populer motor allis used it alot. There were even a few semi tractors that used it. Make sure you put an additive in your antifreeze they were prone to eating up there sleeves as alot of disel engines were, check turbo seals and hi lo range joe
