I have an A-C 5040 (3 cylinder Diesel) with the following problem: Oil and smoke is coming out of the breather after the tractor runs for about 5 -10 minutes or so. If I stop and let the engine sit a few minutes then start it up again it will start to smoke and spit oil in only a few minutes. If it let the tractor sit overnight it starts to smoke and spit oil after running 5 - 10 minutes. This just started happening and I can’t figure out what is wrong. CAN SOMEONE PLS HELP!!!?

Oil and excess vapor from the breather on any engine are a sign of excess pressure in the engine crank case. This is routinely due to blowby from the combustion chamber. Normally this is a broken piston ring, or a hole in the piston. sorry for the bad news. I hope it proves to be something easy, but i doubt it.

This tractor was manufactured by UTB in Romania, same as many of the Long tractors. Yours is mechanically very much the same as a Long 460. On the "Today's Tractors" forum on this site, a fellow called GEO knows volumes about these tractors. Would suggest you also post your question there.

Blown piston very possible. If this proves not to be the problem, another possibility might be the brass injector tubes in the cylinder head. these tubes are sealed top and bottom to keep coolant out of the cylinder. Failure usually is accompanied by steam and coolant out exh. Leaky tubes are checked by pressure testing the head. Hope you find problem.
