Please help?? Serial# 86614 shows this tracter to
be a 1951WD but, all photos of 1951WD's do not match this tractor!!why do all pictured have narrow front ends?? this tractor does have the original bucket so will that make this a different
1951 such as a "B" model maybe???

You probably have a WD. They were available with a wide front. There is one for sale in my area with a John Deere #5 mower mounted. I has an adjustable wide front. The other option is a WF; I have one of these and it is essentially a lower chassis WD with a non adjustable wide front. These were quite popular in our area. The serial number located to the left on the back of the rear axle housing will tell you. It should start with WD or WF.

Slight correction on the WF. It is basically a wheatland version of the WC. Non adjustable wide front, but no hydraulics, lift arms, or hand clutch. Aaron

How different does it look? Most WD's pictured have narrow fronts because most were sold that way. Like the previous poster said, the WD had frame rails that run the full length of the tractor. It's also larger than a B or C. I'm not sure that the B or C could ever hold a loader. Where did you find the serial number? If it was on the left rear brake housing, then it's a WD. Anywhere else, and it's something different.

you need to figure out what you have. a WD is twice as big as a B. The big tractors like WD usually had a "C" channel running down the side of tractor around front and back down the other side, a frame. The small B and C tractors have no frame. The engine, torque tube, and transmission form the backbone of the tracotr. The small tractors have 24 inch wheels on the back, (normally). Check out the pictures at the left of this page and compare. Give the guys a little better description of what your tractor look slike and we can help. Does it have a dash board?, where is the battery located? is the seat spring loaded, or a bench type? etc...
