what would a nicely restored "B" be worth.not too familiar with a/c products.did they all come with hydraulics or were they optional?live or dead pto?

Todd,

1. A nicely restored Model B should be worth $2000 - $3500 depending on the part of the country and the depth of pockets of the buyer.

2. Hydraulics were an option. It is not a live system either. The PTO must be engaged for the hydraulics to work, because little cams on the PTO output shaft work the pistons that make the hydraulics function. It is a very dependable system, but not very modern.

3. The PTO is a dead system. When you push in the clutch, you not only lose PTO power, you also lose hydraulic lift.

I curse my 1950 Model B regularly for being so aggravating, but it is a heck of lot more fun to use that my 1995 Kubota that has live hydraulics and PTO. Old farmers laugh at my little Kubota, but seldom ever fail to stop and talk about my old A-C or Farmall.
