A little over a week ago some one wanted some information sent to him from a manual. So I spent over a hour scanning pages and sending then to him. What did I get-- no thanks, NO response that he received them or got what he needed. I even offered to send more if neccesary. I would think the least he could do would be to let a person know he got them or whatever. I know next time I will not go to the shop at 11 PM to get a manual and spend that time for nothing. Course he might be sick or in hospital, I realize that also

Hi Alvin, Don't give up because of one inconsiderate individual. We'll always have givers and takers. It's people like David Thomas, Sandy Lake Equipment and yourself who make this site what it is. A lot of us are very thankful for you guys who are willing to take your time and share your knowledge. Thanks comes when least expected. Like now. Hang in there we need guys like you. Dave

I understand how you feel, however don't quit. If you know the answer post it. You may help someone else, or just add to the knowledge that we all have. I know I enjoy reading all the posts, not because I need all the answers, but because it adds to my knowledge and I enjoy it. Sometimes I learn something I didn't know I need to know too. Hang in there! Some people will and do thank you for help too.

Don't let that stop you Alvin. This is the world today. I quit helping people for the thank yous a long time ago. I help people because it makes me feel good to see this old iron on the move. If someone says thanks, and a lot of people do, I cosider it a bonus. I will say Thank you to you for them. Just pass along the help that you can and your rewards will come as buttered toast when you least expect it.

Yeah, I feel the same way, maybe my suggestion didn't fix the problem but it would be nice to know how they made out on the deal and some kind of acknowledgment

Your heart was in the right place, Alvin. It was nice of you to help someone, even if it turns out he ain't got the manners of a goat.

Yeah, kinda' reminds me of the work our old WC did when I was a boy. She never really got any thanks either but just kept on goin'. Guess we can learn something from that.
