My 1946 model C will idle all day, but when I start moving, it starts sputtering and dies. I've replaced the mag, carb, plug wires, checked the manifold for cracks. HELP IF YOU KNOW WHAT'S WRONG!!!

How does it handle quick throttle advances and high throttle settings while not moving? I've been through some of the same and maybe some of my findings will help.

Did you have the manifold off the tractor? If did not, You may have a bad intake gasket. Try this and see if this helps. Also check if you have a decent gasket on the carburator . : My 1946 model C will idle all day, but when I start moving, it starts sputtering and dies. Make sure that you have a sufficient supply of fuel reaching the carburetor. Your gas line or fuel strainer may be plugged.

Also check to make sure that the vent in the fuel cpa is unpluged. you can check for intake gasket leaks by spraying carb cleaner around the intake and carb. If the engine speeds up or smooths out you know you have a leak.
