Hi Bob, I bought a '52 CA last fall. Still looks nice, had been repainted, but still has dry-rotted rubber. Needed radiator repair, cylinders honed, hydraulic/transmission fluid changed and some minor primary ignition wiring repair. As I started putting it to work, I discovered clutch slippage, which was a major repair, and is still not complete. I paid $2050, expect to use it for mowing, snowplowing, grading, stump pulling. Mine has a 3-pt hitch that is described in the owner's manual, so I guess it's original. I still feel the price was fair, but I didn't expect all the repair work so soon. If the one you're looking at is mechanically & electrically sound with good rubber, the price you stated sounds OK. As a comparison, last week I looked at a Ford 8N that had been totally rebuilt and was being worked every day. I think it was a '53, with 28" x 12" calcium filled tires instead of the 24" x 10"s on a CA. The torque tube was much heavier than on the Allis, and would easily handle a front-end loader. Asking price was $3000, but it looked like it has been worked hard and was still sporting the original paint, countless dents and some rust. It wasn't pretty. But I would be very comfortable paying $3000 for it, if I still needed a tractor. Best idea -- put a tractor to a work test before you buy. Good luck, Bob Howard
