Anyone have any experience with the steering on a 5020 4-wheel-drive? My brother-in-law just bought one and after just a few minutes of driving it, the steering quit. It broke a tie-rod end, we fixed that, but the steering shaft that comes out the bottom center of the housing in front of the transmission moves up and down, I think letting the gears inside come apart, which lets the steering wheel spin with no turning of the output shaft, and I'm not sure how to get to it to fix it. Looks like the tractor will possibly have to be split to get to it. Gonna have to get a manual first to see what's inside and how to get to it, just wondered if anyone here has been into one of these things. Also, does anyone know of a junkyard that has any of these tractors? Thanks.

Stan, I think that tractor has a worm gear with roller balls. I am not sure about this steering. We have a 5050 and it sounds from your description to be similiar. Maybe someone will come on and answer that really knows.
