I got the B running but no oil pressure. Took all the lines off and blew them out then pulled the tractor around to see if it pumped oil out of the oil filterhole, no oil. Any other ideas to figure this out before splitting it? Does this happen often? Im new to AC so any help woud be great. thanks

Andy, Try taking the coper line loose (the one that goes from the tee on the head to the oil pump, by the filter) and fill this tube with oil. I use a squirter type oil can stuck into the fitting with thumb on the other side of fitting and squirt like crazy! Not knowing what type oil that has been being used I would use a non-detergent oil. Originaly thats what they used. The detergent oil could break-up crud possibly blocking passages. Before splitting you might drop the oil pan and check the oil pick-up tube. When born it had a strainer in the end and this could be pluged. Hope this helps. Good luck!

we had a B that did the same thing. You arent going to like this,we had to split it and pull the pump out.The one we had sat for a while,it must have got a little water in it,the vains and the preasure valve was stuck. The valve is no problem, the vains you have to be VERY careful with.you can get them but they are SALTY.Hope this helps.Snuffy

I assume you are looking at the gauge when you say no pressure. the gauge measures the oil in the filter. remove the filer and chekc the center tube. If it is out of position it will cut off the flow. On the B and C engines only 15% of the oil goes thru the filter, the rest goes to the cam shaft and sprays the bottom end and a seperate line goes to the rocker arms. you can take the small tube off taht goes to the governor bearing. Odes it have oil? You can remove the rocker vavle cover, do you see oil pumping. If no oil nowhere then the pump needs primed, or bad. Try filling the pump suction tube full from the filter down into the oil pan by poiring oil from a can, maybe this will work.

Steve, thanks for the info. on the mag. it runs great but it shuts off suddenly. Thats what brought the lack of oil pressure to my attention. I took the oil filter off and pulled it around the yard and no oil came out of the tube. I even took the piece off that holds the filter onand blew that out also. Is this where I prime it? The book says the pump is on the back of the block can it be primed from somwhere else? This tractor has not run for at least 2 yrs maybe longer. I also looked down the oil filler hole and saw no oil circulating on the rockers thought maybe it was starving for oil. It onlyran for a couple of minutes before it shut down and it would fire up again when pulled. It didnt act like it locked up though. Anyhow thanks for any forther info. Andy
