Got the B running good by cranking it but the other day it wouldnt, so I hooked it to my red machine and pulled it around the yard for awhile and it would only fire on one cylinder. I checked the wires and plugs they are OK. Could the timing have jumped when it was pulled? Im new to AC and you guys have helped a bunch, any ideas? thanks Andy in Ohio

Make yourself a test device for your mag, or find someone who has one and test the mag. If it works fine, check your fuel, carb, etc.

Update on the mag problem. I forgot to mention that I left tractor outside without covering the mag. DUH! Im in the process of drying it out. The tractor will start but only run for a few seconds and shut off, the it wont do anything but give me blisters. I hope it will run again. Im getting plenty of fuel but not much spark, only on no.1 wire. ANy other advice? Thanks Andy in Ohio

Every year I go through the same problem. It is usually the points. I put a new cap on this year. I have talked to old timers that used to take their mags home with them at the end of the day. Good luck!

Ken, I found the problem! It took 4 days but victory is mine! Retimed the mag several times to no avail, happened to look at the rotor button when I was cranking it and it wasnt moving. Turns out the timing gear was loose and pulling off of the little gearinside . I took it to work and made anew washer to hold it in place. It starts and runs again! Its amazing how foolish these tractors can make us at times. Well its ready for the fair at least. Thanks for the help Andy in Ohio
