What is the difference between the 7030, 7040, 7050, and 7060? The tractors appear almost identical visually. I know the horsepower differences. Do they merely have different pumps?
Why was the 7030 and 7050 only made in 1974? We have a 7060 with a new major overhaul that just had a run in with a concrete bridge. We need to find another Allis of this series but want to retain interchangeability of parts with our 7060 and it's new engine.

One of our Ranch hands was transporting the 7060 and a Vermeer baler down a paved country road. There was a corridor of about an 1/8th of a mile with a hill on one end and a curve on the other end. As he was crossing a small concrete bridge a vehicle passed him (and disappeared out of site over the hill) crowding him into the concrete guard rail of the bridge. He almost made it across the bridge. It was probably more of a reflex reaction, but it all happened too fast. The Allis is salvage and broken in half (still one piece but barely). Luckily he didn't sustain any injuries and the Allis didn't roll off the bridge. As the Highway Patrol pointed out, he's lucky he didn't go through the windshield of the cab. The part that is hard to swallow is the Allis has less than 200 hours on a major overhaul and the guy got the heck out of Dodge! You wouldn't have been in Polk county last week...would you?

That's too bad! If rancher wern't such nice people maybe he could have put the car into the guard rail and taught that jerk a lesson!!
I haven't been in a Polk county since May, wasn't me! Thanks for..... . THE REST of the STORY!

Craig; The 7050 and 7060 engines are basically the same. both are intercooled...fuel setting difference. 7030 ,7040 and 7045 are just turboed no intercoolers. 7030 and 7050 were made in 1973 and 1974. 7060 1975 >1981. 7040 1975>1977 You can interchange 7060 engine with any of these models. most all the other parts interchangable depending on transmissions. Have rebuilt a lot of these tractors and used..used parts from thes model groups.

Do you know why they only made the 7030 and 7050 one year, and why my 2001 IRON Solutions Official Guide shows an average price of $3,117 for a 7050 and $7,381 average for a 7060?

Paid $7,850 for my 7050 in 1998 S.E Minnesota and love it. The guy that bid against me bought a 7050 a week later for around $7,000 no duals and he loves his too.

Craig; They made the 7030 and the 7050 in 1973 and 1974. My farmer's hotline equip book shows both years! I was working at an AC dealership when we delivered our first 7030 in 1973. the same year I graduated. The 7030 and 7050 were kind of expermental models with lots of problems required field improvement kits. So resale is low on them...improvements made on 7040 and 7060 when they came out.

They also replaced the 7030 with the 7020 with the 301 cid engine for better fuel efficiency. And they had made enough improvements in the clutch and transmission area that the Black belly came about. So with a 7010, to fix the tranny problems of the 7000 and the 7020 replacing the 7030 with a few less HP, the 7045 came about to replace the 7040 with a few more HP and the 7050 was replaced by the 7060 with a few more. And of course the 7080 with the high rpm, balanced crank that still had problems. Also with the Black belly was the Power shift transmission that was the same as the proto type of the 7040. And if you notice, AC went back to 4 100-200 hp tractors, 8010@106/301cid, 8030@132/426cid turbo, 8050@152/426 turbo intercooled, and 8070@170/426 turbo intercooled
