Hey all, I bought a great little AC-C (1947 C50756) . . .What a great Tractor, Having a couple of problems

Wheel Fall off Rt Rear, other wheel has 2 eccentric and 1 fixed bolt/clamp assembly holding rim to wheel assembly. This side has 2 eccentric and 2 fixed assemblies, as shown in owners manual. Do these wear, and does anyone know where I can get some(Clamps and eccentric bolts) (new or used)

Cold Starting, Haven't had winter yet, but, I purchased it with a Ford Frt end loader to move snow in winter. Had 3 inches of snow the other day, Ambient air temp about 35 F, Tractor started for a few seconds, and quit, would not start again. Any suggestions? ? ?

Thanks Chris Johnston

Hi,

You should have 2 eccentric and 2 fixed on each wheel. My '42 C has 1 eccentric and 3 fixed on each wheel and I can feel the wheels moving around on the clamps. I posted a 'wanted' ad on the classifieds here and got a bunch of responses. Some guys want $25+ for the clamp, others might sell the clamp and bolt/nut for $5. I bought enough for 4 eccentrics on each wheel to ensure i can get them tight.

Regarding the starting, check the choke to make sure it works, make sure the float setting is correct in the carb. Sounds like a fuel problem to me. If you cannot find the problem, post a more specific question and I'm sure you'll get some good advice.

good luck,
mark

At that temp the carb may be icing up as the cold is pulled past the throttle plate. Had a model C that would that, try using a heat gun (wife,s blowdryer to warm carb before starting.
