I have a 1967 190 gas with the 265 engine, it has a noise in it and I am considering repowering with a diesel. Am not concerned about power (60 hp is enough) but what would be a good economical, inexpensive and fairly easy to install engine.

I wouldn't waste the money. Sell it at an auction and buy a used deere. Parts are hard to get for the 190s.My 2 cents worth

I can see that you don't know what you are talking about, most Deere people here don't. So your .02 isn't even worth that, get a life!

I would stay with the AC 2800 or 2900 engine. These are the 301 cid that belong to the 180/185/190 diesel engines for that tractor. They are reliable and cheap power. Only drawback is that it lacks low end torque, above 1900 rpm and its great.
