That would make it a 1938. They did not build the C untill 1940. After that both B and C used CE engines. You probably have the original BE engine. Same block, smaller bore, a little less compression and horsepower. Dont think the tri front end was original. Bck then they did not have pto, hydraulics or starters on most of the tractors. You can get a different rear cover/housing for transmission that has the pto and hydraulics setup, but may be a little hard to find. Most of these tractors were setup with cultivator or small blade under the tractor hanging from engine mount and drawbare between the axles. You use a long manual lever to raise and lower it, like a present day riding mower.

I have a 1938 B with the narrow front as well. I bought it from a guy that was sure that it came that way from the factory. When I restored it I found that it had a wide front on it long enough to wear a square indentention where the wishbone fastens to the torque tube under the clutch. The one I have was not done at the factory. The people on this board will say that Allis Chalmers never put a narrow front on any B's and they may be correct. I have talked to two old timers that swear that Allis did manufacture a few. The one collector said he had tracked six, but then the one I purchased was supposed to be one of them.
If you look under the torque tube and there is a witnes where a wide front had once been attached it probably was converted to the narrow front.
I put the narrow front back on the one I have and pull it in the 2500# antique class.
