How do you tell which carb you have on a C. The book I have lists 2 possibilities. But there are no matching numbers or a tag on the carb that I can see. I am used to JD's and this is my first AC. Thanks for the help in advance. Tom

The parts book lists 14 different Zenith carbs and 2 Marvel-Sheblers. There is a round disc with stamped numbers riveted to the carb, facing up on the Zenith and to the side on the Marvel.

You need to find the numbers to buy correct parts.

general appearance--
---zenith bowl is more of a figure eight with throttle port at the narrow part of the 8. also has a drain screw in the bowl pointing straight forward. bottom drain screw on bowl is straight downward. arm on choke shaft that the choke rod clips to is two layers thick sheetmetal.
----marvel schebler bowl is more rounded with the throttle port in the middle.front of the bowl is smooth and rounded, no screws or ports. bottom drain i believe comes out at an angel, not straight downward, and some of them were petcocks, not plugs.
--i think i got that all right.
