I need to split a 190xt gas is it just as simple as disconnecting the hoses and electrical lines unbolting the hood and unbolting the block from the transmission and clutch housing. Is there a saft to be taken apart when it is seperated. Thanks for the info thanks,Russell

no theres no hidden shaft or anything like that just a normal clutch and pressure plate, the only real difference from a pickup or something is the PTO drive which is a hollow splined shaft that goes around the tranny input shaft and it splines into the pressure plate.I think I have pics in the manual can e mail if you need.good luck.

When I split a tractor I drive blocks of wood in between the front axle and the housing (both sides) so it remains stable when the engine separates from the clutch housing. Also try to keep everything straight when you roll them apart so the pto drive doesn't jam in the flywheel hub. Don't forget about fuel line, steering, throttle,etc.-I almost always miss someting-like a bolt somewhere or a wire!!Good luck!!
