I will try to e-mail you a diagram. The tractor is 6 volt positive ground. the generator has two terminals F and A. The A terminal runs to the cutout relay. the outlet of the relay goes to the ampmeter then battery. the cutout shuts off power when the engine is off (no voltage out of generator). The F terminal goes to the light switch. The light switch is a big resistor that goes to ground. If you pull out the switch the F terminal is gounded and generator puts on 10 amps. With light switch pushed in, the internal resistor goes a resistance to ground and the generator charges 2 or 3 amps. This is a simple charging system used prior to voltage regulators. You can ground the F terminal to get full output for a test. You can also connect the A terminal straight to the battery for a "test". Both of these make the generator run wide open and will overcharge the battery eventually if wired direct.
