Last week I changed the hydraulic fluid in my AC 170, it was running fine before this. Now, the hydraulic fluid is not making it to the pump from the reservoir. The pump appears to be working fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Gene: Don't take this the wrong way, I'm not trying to be smart but are you sure that you filled the hydraulic reservoir with oil? I have been out on a few service calls over the years for the exact same problem and found this to be the reason. That's why I asked the question. The plug for the hydraulic reservoir is on the left just ahead of the gear shift lever. If you are sure that you have oil in the reservoir then the next reason that I have found for this problem is a worn pump that has trouble picking the oil up from the reservoir after it has been drained. Most of the time you can get a worn pump to reprime itself by taking the pressure line off the pump and starting the engine. When oil starts to come out of the fitting, shut off the engine and reconnect the pressure line. The pump should then start to work. I suspect that the pump is probably worn and that is the reason that you changed the hydraulic oil. If that is the case then the only real solution is to rebuild or replace the hydraulic pump. I hope that this helps you. Gordon
