My CA Allis started jumping out of third gear once in a while, and with in 3-4 hours it was jumping out all the time. Just 3rd gear. Is that usually a fork or a bearing? and do you have to split it to get it apart? I just use it for mowing, so there is no hard pull on it. Thanks, Harold

I had a ca that did the same thing. It was the gears, they were worn off to a tapper on the side the two gears meshed on due to years of grinding them when putting in gear in a hurry and not letting them stop turning. We took the gears off and replaced them with good used ones and fixed the problem.

Gary, I fixed my 3rd gear problem on my D14. I didn't split the tractor, just some lathe and milling machine work on the shifting mechanism. I don't know if a CA has a transmission like a D14 or not. E-mail me if you want more info. Trent
