I have an Allis-Chalmers G engine (N-62) with four stuck pistons and badly pitted cylinder walls. What is the best way to unstick and remove these pistons?

Hone the upper available parts of the walls and make sure the ridge is gone, makes it easier to move once the piston is loosened up. Now laugh if you would like, but pour some CocaCola Classic into each clyinder and wait for it to disappear, I have had one engine hold the Coke for almost a day. Turn the engine upside down and with a wood block and mallet, wood block between the mallet and piston. Tap the piston out of the top of the cylinder. Coke use to work better than now, but still does work! Coke contains an acid that will desolve/loosen rust over a period of time. I laughed the first time I was told about Coke, but it really does work. I guess we drink Coke to overcome our rusty pipes from all the water we drink. LOL If the rust is that bad then you will have to oversize the engine. Good Luck!

AWB, Forget the coaxing with the various solvents. What you describe means boring out to the next oversize in any case. press the pistons out and go with the re-bore kit. If the bores are at max already, sleeve back to standard. Good luck.

The PISTONS have to come out of the bottom on a n-62.
