The transmission and differential use 80EP gear oil year round. There are 3 drain plugs; one under diff., one under tranny and one at bottom of PTO housing. Takes approx. 17 qts to fill both. There are two filler plugs; both are pipe plugs on LH side of tractor; one in front of and one behind the clutch "lockout latch". Important: the filler (with bayonet level indicator) ahead of these is for the hydraulic system; this calls for 20W non-detergent oil but most people use a modern hydraulic fluid nowadays. I agree with JMS/MN, a manual is immensely helpful in understanding and caring for your tractor.

The answer to that is found in the OPERATOR manual, along with much more useful information about a really great tractor. The transmission and differential use different grades of oil, and the manual costs $15-20.
