I'm wondering whether anyone has any good ideas on how to mount a front cultivator on the G. Particularly, I am looking to mount a tandem (i.e. two bar) unit, using diamond tool bar stock (2 1/2" square stock, rotated 45 degrees). This diamond toolbar can be mounted with currently available tools - side knives, guage wheels, discs, spiders, etc. such as available from Market Farm Implement (PA) (I can not find ready supply of tools to mount the 3/4" x 2" bars that were standard on the G back in the '40s and '50s). Two basic ideas come to mind: (1) alter the tool carrier mounting brackets to accept diamond toolbar (i.e. widen from 2" to 2 1/2", correct rotation already provided), or (2) keep the mounting brackets the same, and provide some sort of attachment arm to the toolbar assembly. This attachment arm, I'm thinking, would be made of 3/4" x 2" flat stock and bent at 90 degrees and then clamped at the toolbar tie which holds the first bar to the second. Any thoughts, comments, or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.
