Hello everyone,
I am putting this message up to see if anyone can help me and if not, to prevent someone else from getting screwed. I posted a message in the classifieds several weeks ago for a carbutretor for a D17. Someone named Nathan Lofland said that he had one and that he would sell it to me. His e-mail address is partshouse03@yahoo.com. He wanted me to send him a money order to a P.O. box and I did on 8/27 and now I can't get him to reply to any of my e-mails. If anyone nows how I can contact him, I would appreciate knowing how. if not, please beware.

Thanks,
Anothertractor

I,m still waiting for some allis parts from him too. I received the cancelled check back and there are 2 signatures on it. His name and Jim Lofland. I can't get a response either. Let me know if you find a way to get your parts. I sent the money to Laurie MO and the check was cashed in Concordia MO.
toadsequip@yahoo.com was the address he used for me.

I had the opposite experence. I was trying to buy a carb from him after he replied to my ad. I asked a few questions and how to pay for the carb and I have not heard back from him. Glad you posted your experence. Makes me glad he did not respond to my latest e-mail.

I had a similar problem with another individual. I sent a personal check to this guy, and wasn't receiving the part. I eventually found out that the state of illinois has a internet fraud division. I'm from Ohio. I posted my case to them on their website. They took care of everything else. I eventually received my part. This took a couple of months, be patient. I found this website on a Yahoo search. I typed in Illinois State Police. I eventually found a link to the internet fraud deptpartment. They are linked to the FBI. You will need contact information for this guy. That also can be found on the internet. Do a people search. Post the state and address that this guy gave you on the forum. I had people in my guys hometown emailing phone numbers and addresses to me. It's likely that this guy has ripped off others that would be more than willing to help. Good luck and don't let this drop. I almost did, thankfully I stuck with it.

Another parts scammer goes by the name JCA Farms.
They took me for $79, and ignored all E-mails afterwards. They were selling on Ebay, but after 60 days you can't report them.

Definitely call the Post Office and file a complaint. They are like houndogs once you get them started. I had an outfit try and screw me out of a magazine subscription - the Postal Inspectors kept after them and I eventually received a refund. Its is a Felony to commit mail fraud. This turkey could get locked up - and probably should.

i seem to remember his name from a discussion 6 months ago. believe about 75% of his deals go bad. he did have a couple guys that got their parts, but the conclusion of most was that they got screwed. IF you got the post office box, you got a general idea of where he is these days. seems to me i remember he worked between a couple of big states west of the Mississippi.

It seems to me if you paid him with a postal money order and he doesn't send the item it's called mail fraud. Seek help at the post office. Good luck, Gary

Unfortunatly it seems more and more scammers are out there. I have not heard of this one personally. What I do myself for an expensive item is first request some photos and the sellers phone number. If he can produce photos of what he is selling I then call and speak with the seller and get a home mailing address, never a PO box. There are parts venders on this forum and others that are well known and have good reputations. Next time ask some of us before you send the MO. It is possible the MO can be stopped or traced by the bank or Post Ofice.
