I was woundering what you guys might think is wroung?

Adam,
Sounds like you could have a sinking set of floats making it flood, especially if it's equipped with a Marvel/Schebler carb. For some reason we seem to replace bad floats more in them than the Zeniths when we rebuild our customers carbs. Good Luck! Hope you find the problem...

Are you getting good fuel flow at the carb? Is it a magneto or distributer ign? Mine was doing that and I found the kill wire that grounds the points was shorting to the case of the mag when driving. It also could be timing or bad points, condenser etc. If it runs for 5 or 10 min and then starts backfireing I would replace the condenser. My mag fired WD had the same problem with the bad condenser.

Dave it had dist. igniton, and I replaced the points, condenser, roter, cap plugs and wires. The carb is getting plenty of fule, I think the float setting might be the problem because when it stalls out there is a steady stream of gas trickeling out of the carb. I going to look into it more tonight, so if you have any other ideas post them and I'll give them a try. Thanks for the input.
Adam P.S. I'll try the old condenser to see if that helps.

My first guess is you answered your own question in your statment. (when it stops the gas runs out the carburator) Shucks it ain't supposed to do that!!!---It may just be dirt in the needle valve---or as you stated the float. You have very good odds on the carburator--I personaly would not rule out valves--I probably can not explain this well, but does the tractor give you a lisp? kind of like a little whistle in the exhaust just before it dies? After it warms up the valves expand? Post back after working on the carb. As with all questions there are many answeres. You no doubt would like the correct answer first, Perhaps more information, and detection will help. Another after thought is, does she blow black smoke just before she dies??? Does it act just like you are choking her just before she dies? Good Luck Dave NE Iowa
