Thanks for the tips last week ref: spit/sputtterss. Fuel line was clear. Spark from coil/in distributor/at plugs. Got tractor to start and flames shoot out of the muffler. Shut it off and pushed it out of the barn. Started it and it wants to shoot flames out the muffler and spits/sputters. What to do?

Al,
Sounds like you could have carburetor troubles there. To much fuel running through the carb due to high float level, sinking floats or whatever, could be fueling the engine and the raw unburned fuel going out the exhaust is igniting in the muffler causing the flame. Although this may look pretty cool to some folks, it sure isn't doing your engine any good! You may need just a good carb overhaul. Definetely a fuel problem though I would think especially the sputtering part along with the flame. If it turns out to be an over fueling condition, it would be wise to change the engine oil and filter after the problem is rectified. We do carburetor rebuilding and repairs if you don't want to do it yourself or have someone local do it for you. Good Luck!
