I just aquired an early (1940) B with hand brakes. Was it common for these tractors to have this configuration? Any info would be much appreciated

In correction to my earlier post, it was Guy Fay's book. The B went to foot brakes at serial #B52718 and the C went to them at #C5756.

I'm restoring a '41 right now and it has hand brakes.

According to Norm Swinford's book, Allis changed from hand brakes to foot brakes in early '41 with the model C (somewhere around serial #C5751). I'd assume the change in the model B occured at the same time given the two tractors share similar parts.

I have a 39 with hand brakes, had a 41 with foot brakes. I think they switched around 1940
