I am getting ready to paint my little B and was wondering if anyone had an easy way to mask off the tires?

Archie,I used construction Paper. cut it 4 inches wide by the length of the paper??? put it at the edge of rim ,"between tire and rim." held it with my hand then painted rim that was protected by paper, slowly moved paper around edge untill I had the complete outer edge of the rim painted,(Along with one hand)Did not get any paint on tire.If you do get paint on tire just take some thinner and rag wipe off while paint is still tacky. HTHs "as clear a muddy water"

Great minds think alike, that was pretty much how I did it last time. It's a shame there isn't a plastic product you could spray on the tire, let it dry, then go around it with a knife and peel the inside part off the wheel. Then spray it and peel the rest after the paint drys. If it didn't cost to much that would be great.

There IS a plastic spray used in the asbestos abatement industry that you can spray on a wall and then when finished with your abatement job, peal off without affecting anything under the spray-on. Yes, it's expensive. That probably why roll plastic is usually always used. I used the spray one time in "asbestos abatement refresher" training class in San Antonio a few years ago. I'm thinking though that the solvents in paint might break this stuff down when painting and really make a mess on the rubber tires.
